Twins Japan and Kadokawa Shoten announced on Monday that they are producing a live-action film of Fuyumi Ono's Ghost Hunt supernatural novels and Shiho Inada's manga.
Yoshitaka Yamaguchi (assistant director for Yatterman, director for live-action Arcana) will direct the film, which is slated to go into production next month for a planned summer 2014 release. Atsuyuki Shimoda (Sadako 3D, Another) and Shotaro Oikawa (Arcana) are writing the film's screenplay, and Shinichiro Inoue (Another anime series, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) will serve as executive producer with Adrian Chaw as co-executive producer.
Maya Fukuzawa (Good Luck!!, Mr. Brain) will star as Mai Taniyama, Mizuki Yamamoto (Black Butler, Zekkyō Gakkyū, Daily Lives of High School Boys) will play Masako Hara, and Yosuke Kawamura (Liar Game: Reborn, Rookies) will play Hōshō Takigawa. Twins Japan and Kadokawa Shoten will announce more cast members at a later date.
